B.A.’s is on her way to acting.

Flipping Wigs, B.A.’s Greenlight Studio Acting Experience

It might just flip a few wigs to know, I started acting classes 4 months ago. Greenlight Acting Studios is Kennesaw’s best kept secret but the word is getting out. 🎥 🎬

I wasn’t going to post anything until I landed my first real paying job but my coach gave me a standing ovation tonight, for my Meryl Streep monologue. Feeling that was pretty dang darn special and blog worthy, I got busy writing. I am not 100% certain but I may have even made people cry, BONUS!

It all started with my neighbor, Joe. He needed a new adventure and I signed up for the partner in crime “role”. You can just imagine my surprise, when he picked acting as the adventure!  I thought maybe we would plant a garden or something.🌱 However, the cosmos had other plans, for the both of us!!

After some discussion, I left his house thinking, ok, I can be an extra. I have done this before. It will be fun, most certainly an adventure! For those of you not in the know, I am quite content being background material. Ohhhh no. The very next day, I got an email from Joe about where we would be taking classes. 😲 WTF moment. Seems Joe was in it to win it and background BethAnn was definitely on her way to adventure.

Christian Stokes from Greenlight Acting Studios

Jumping out of airplanes

Our first class was with Christian Stokes, at Greenlight Studios. It was a 6 week long, Shurtleff Method, auditions class. When I say, I just jumped out of the plane with no chute on for my first read, you better believe it. It was crazy. It was like running buck naked on a football field, during the half-time show.  Who was this person that just came out of me? Nobody in class was more surprised at my first read than I !! Hey man, you gotta commit to adventure, right!

Erin Bethea, Greenlight Studios Acting Coach
Missed my group shot with Erin, next time!!

Well, I guess you could say, after that I was hooked.
I then signed up with Erin Bethea  (owner of Greenlight Studios) for a 5 week course in scene study, using the Warner Loughlin techniques. It was crazy awesome, digging into scenes and building characters, giving them dimension and diversity. This was the first time I had to pick a scene out and man, was that a learning experience.  I played Grace from Frankie & Grace ( for those of you that know me, you KNOW that was a stretch) but pulled it off I did!!

Drew Waters from Greenlight Acting Studios

B.A. be rolling now!

Why stop now,  heck to the yeah…. I am now on a roll baby.

What could I do but sign up for yet another 4 week course with Drew Waters for scene study.

I got to play Prairie the blind girl from the OA, beatnik Diedre from Happy Days and tonight Sophie, from Sophie’s choice. During this course I really worked on developing the roller coaster. That’s when a character delivers a variety of emotions in one scene and builds anticipation in the audience, pulling them in. Maaaaan, I so wanted to end with a bang. I feel I Delivered! 🎉🎉🎉

I have just signed up for another 5 week scene study course with Christian Stokes. As you have read, he was my very first coach. I am anxious to see, if he sees any growth in me over these last couple of months. My first class with him was really enjoyable and I am looking forward to working with him again.

I CAN NOT say enough great things about Greenlight Acting Studios.

They have the best coaches/ teachers. They are all wonderfully talented, gifted & giving people, who coach while currently maintaining working careers in the industry. Such a wealth of information.

If you EVER thought about acting or just like to challenge yourself with something new, you should totally give them a whirl. I did and I honestly, I could not be more pleasantly surprised! I am loving it!!!

A, is for auditioning in August, wish me luck!!

B.A. being an extra in "Forgive Me Lord"

*** Bonus.  One of my actor class mates, Grant Pfsot, from my first class was working on a movie called “Forgive Me Lord”. He was nice enough to hit me up to be an extra on the set and check out the filming process up close.

*** If you could visit my SHOP, and purchase something,  it would help greatly with my budding acting career! Ok, I kid but I would love it if you checked out my new CRYSTAL KEEPER MUGS.  I am pretty thrilled with them!
