My Ian Buttermilk Gnome Jar will rock your day with his amazing sparkle and whimsy.  

This cute little ~ Ian Buttermilk Gnome Jar is my own original design and is crafted in my home studio in a pet and smoke free environment. Each piece is  distinctively unique with it’s own unique characteristics making each one, one of a kind. 

Cracker Barrel County is all a buzz with the coming of Valentines Day. The Buttermilk Brothers have braved the cold weather to come together and discuss, deliberate and finalize what tags they would be offering up for this celebrated day of love. Heated words were had about how love should be celebrated every day but cool heads prevailed and decisions were made and here are their offerings, in no order of importance of course.

The Road To Gnome

I can not help myself, I am a sucker for all things miniature. I developed quite a collection of Cracker Barrel syrup bottles over the year. My friends finally challenged me to do something with them. So, I put my thinking cap on and here they are, The Buttermilk Brothers Gnome jars. (If you put the first letter of each of their names together, it spells Buttermilk. Cracker Barrel has the best Buttermilk Pancakes!!) 

I crochet their little hats and form their hair and nose with texture paint. After that, I add more paint and some extra sparkle (sorry the camera is not really picking that up) 

The Gnome Surprise

I then thought…. hmmm, these little mischievous dudes need to come with a surprise because Gnomes are surprising! That’s when I got the bright idea to hide little notes inside them. There is a little piece of yarn that runs through a reinforced tag. The string stays hidden under his hat. Just unscrew the top, pull on the string and enjoy reading your Gnome words of wisdom. At this moment in time the messages have a Valentines vibe to them because, well, why not!  You get to choose one tag from the six shown so choose wisely. 

 About Ian Buttermilk’s Jar and Hat: 

 I upcycle the tiny Cracker Barrel Syrup jars. The jars stand 4 in. tall. The jars come with the tops, just lift the crochet hats off, and remove the screw cap. ~ Ian Buttermilk’s  Hat is 4 in. long and the back of this jar is open, you will be able to see through it.

This adorable Gnome Jars is intended for indoor use only and they are NOT a toy for children.

History of the Gnome

“Tomtes or Gnomes” came from Scandinavian folklore. Tomtes “house gnomes” live in or under the house. Their job is to protect the children and animals from evil or misfortune and perhaps create a bit of mischief.  Until recently, they have taken on the role similar to the American Santa. In Norway they call them, Nisse. 

My Whimsy Art is made by hand with a joy and love for what I create.  There are no two item that are alike and I won’t duplicate my work. My FUNctional art is made to inspire light spirits and happy hearts, I hope you enjoy it and thanks for checking in on my shop.
